Congratulations to the Jimmy Bruen team on their win against Cregmore at the weekend.

The second leg of the inaugural ‘Ryder Cup’ match against Ballinrobe was played last Thursday and unfortunately, this time, Ballinrobe were victorious. It certainly proved to be a very sociable occasion and no doubt a fixture in golfing calendars going forward.

There will be an Open Week , June 3 – 9th inc, main sponsor Connolly Motors, There will be a mixture of different competitions…details will be posted on the website.

The LOTTO is edging towards €12,000. Have you a ticket? Last weeks numbers were 11, 20, 25 & 27. Lucky dip winners were Walter Kelly, Ann Killilea & Sean Byrnes.

Ladies : the committee have started a 9 hole qualifying competition on a trial basis. It can be played every Sunday . There will be time slots allotted on the time sheet for this competition. This is chiefly aimed at beginners and ladies who have haven’t the time or energy to play 18 holes.
The next scramble will be on Friday June 2nd and it will be followed by a presentation of sponsored competitions to that date.

Members are urged to use the BRS time sheet for the Wednesday open. We are aware that visitors are not travelling for our open day as when they look at the time sheet it is often blank. The BRS timesheet if used properly is a great way for those without regular partners to play and meet new golfers so please.. use it.
