The golfing year might be coming to an end but this weekend was one of the busiest in the calendar yet. The inaugural Night at the Dogs was on Friday night and certainly it proved a great success with a great number of members and friends attending the event. Over 560 tickets were sold and Angela Clancy was the lucky recipient of the €1,000 in the bumper draw. Angela should do the euro millions this week as she won €20 in the golf club Lotto lucky dip on Wednesday night and instead of putting it in her pocket she purchased a second dogs ticket with her winnings……and this extra purchase was the lucky one.

The Captains & Presidents Drive Out was on Sunday and the rain even stopped for the duration of the competition. There was a great turnout for what is always a very sociable occasion. The front 9 was won by Maria Coen, Ivan Mooney & Danny McGrath and the back 9 was won by Evelyn Ronayne, Pat Quinn & Frank Clancy. Runners up were : Susie O Brien, Tom Shaughnessy & John Wall and Mary Casey, Bernard O Brien & Gerry Donnellan.

Saturday Club
There was another good turnout for the Saturday Club at Tuam Golf Club despite the raw conditions. Scoring was good with Joe King taking the honours with 29 points from 12 holes.
Result: 1, Joe King (24) 29; 2, Martin Murphy (14) 25; 3, John Bodkin (4) 25; 4, Gerry Bodkin (19) 25. Draw winners: Dermot Fahy, Mick O’Shea and Gerry King. The ‘bottles’ outing takes place on Saturday, December 16.
The Lotto is now €14,400. Last weeks lucky dip winners were Sean Doyle, Ann Greaney & Angela Clancy, Play for as little as €2 per week.
The Club AGM will be on Sunday December 10th in the clubhouse. Notice of motions must be received by the Secretary, in writing, signed by the proposer and seconder at least 7 days before the date of the meeting. The ladies AGM is on Tuesday 12th December.
