The was a huge entry for the Christmas week competition with over a hundred players taking part, the biggest Christmas entry for several years. The first player on the course on St. Stephen’s Day was Noel Kelly and he brought in the winning score with 34 points, beating Dan Twomey on a breakdown. (Dan’s exceptional form this winter hasn’t gone unnoticed by tournament director and handicap secretary David Mahon!!!).By winning the gross Darren o Conner has propelled his winter league team into fourth place, and looking good for a place in the final!!

Round five of the winter league takes place this week when the 14 hole competition runs from New Year’s Day to Sunday 6, which should give everyone a chance to play. Holes in play are 1–12, 17 & 18.

Saturday Club
We had 35 playing in the Saturday Club. Result (12 holes): 1 John Burke (9) 29; 2 John Stevens (25) 29; 3 Jimmy Cleary (11) 28; 4 Michael O’Connell (16) 28. Bottles: Martin Casserly, Austin Lydon, Declan King.
Members are reminded that the club lotto is now 20,000 euro with a reserve lotto of 1,500 euro building up behind. When the 20,000 euro is won then the full reserve will come into play. If you would like to sign up for 6 or 12 months please feel free to contact Evelyn or Ann.
