There was a huge entry for the first of four planned midweek team tourneys. With the entire course in immaculate condition scoring was high and none better than John Ger Davin, John Tobin, and John o’Halloran who had 69 points [thanks to several 4 pointers from Mr. Tobin]. Peter Quinn, Peter Ryan, and John Stevens came second on 68 points [on a breakdown]. Best ladies team with 60 points were Anneta o’Neill, Mary Bollard, and Helen Byrne.
There will be a team of three CHAMPAGNE SCRAMBLE from Monday to Thursday where you take the best drive of the three and play your own ball out from there, with two to count at each hole with £5 entry and £5 re-entry. [bunkers out of play and prizes for best overall team, second overall, and best ladies team].

Mens results:
There was a huge entry for the first counting competition of the year with well over a hundred entries despite the stormy conditions. Padraig McVeigh came out on top [helped by a five pointer on the tenth] with 42 points. Jason Cullen came in second with 40 points, [ playing off 5, a fabulous round]. Mike Ryan came third with 39 [one of several 39s]. Playing off +1 Ross Kelly won the gross with 35 pts. CSS 36.

The first open day of the season was won by Stephen o Brien with 38 in poor weather conditions. CSS: 36. Open day continues every Friday til September.

There were no winners of our lotto jackpot worth 9,300 euro. Numbers drawn were 8, 12, 18, 26. There were no match 3’s. Congratulations to John Mahon who was our lucky dip winner. Some renewals are now due.
